when you bring your baby boy home from the hospital
that someday you will be up later than you would like
(while he sleeps soundly upstairs)
baking reindeer cookies
with pretzel antlers and M&M faces
for his kindergarten Christmas party.
And no one tells you
the next day

you will be so glad that you did.
